IT infrastructure change

IT often plays a vital role in fundamentally changing the nature and scale of the service provided to the business, its customers and suppliers. Whilst some change can be managed within normal operations, there comes a point where the scale, complexity and impact of the change demand the resources, structure, control and disciplines of a clearly defined project or programme.

Our clients usually have an abundance of technical knowledge in their own team and third parties. When they turn to Project One, they seek the change management disciplines that will achieve success, even when timescales are short, requirements are unclear and complexity is great.

Working with our clients and their third parties, we apply specialist change management disciplines to accelerate and bring rigour to the process, for example:

  • Clearly articulating and communicating the business context of the change, the fit within the broader programme of change and the critical dependencies for success
  • Facilitating high level decisions about architecture and technology
  • Managing procurement processes, bringing suppliers to the table and making them work optimally to add maximum value to the client, with a ‘one team, one goal' culture
  • Engaging, and where required, gaining consensus and co-operation from others impacted by the change e.g. operational IT teams, business areas
  • Establishing an effective structure and governance process covering financial management and project reporting
  • Delivering key projects on time, on budget and in full

A key aspect of our approach is working with the IT Infrastructure team in a way that develops its capability to engage senior business leaders more effectively and manage complex change in the future.
